PSG ANNOUNCES 2020 FOURTH QUARTER MAJOR AWARD WINNER

In honor of hard work and a "can-do" attitude, Portable Solutions Group and its family of companies (DropBox Inc., Modular Security Systems Inc., and Portable Solutions Manufacturing) recognizes William (Will) Pendleton as the 2020 fourth quarter recipient of its Major Award. Will currently serves as the Integration Manager. Over the last year, Will has continued to grow in his roles. Originally hired as a designer, he quickly showed capabilities in integrating various technologies with our existing processes. A needed position was created dedicated towards integrating technology to support Portable Solutions Group’s growth.

Will continues to bring forward his experiences from previous employers including Northrop Grumman and Machine and Components Industries as well as his current educational path in software engineering. With these experiences, we have automated systems to support our companies and their customers. With the help of the design team, Will has automated the design process and now most products can be modeled and documented in days rather than weeks. He has worked with the process engineer to implement computer workstations on the manufacturing floor. He has worked with management to consolidate our IT infrastructure into the Wurtland facility while keeping business activities unaffected. He has worked with access control partners to test and implement new technologies including the thermal systems installed in the MAC Safe-T-Check™ products.

As we move into 2021, the focus will turn towards communication. We are going to work with all departments and find ways to use existing and new technologies to make our daily work more efficient. This allows more focus on customers and their products.

Portable Solutions Group’s continued customer focus would not be possible without Will and his leadership. We would like to congratulate Will Pendleton for winning the Major Award and wish him continued success with our family of companies.

It's important, now more than ever, that we remember to be thankful for what we have during this holiday season.

Regardless of the trials and tribulations of 2020, we've managed to keep the Christmas spirit alive and hope that you've been able to do the same. Even though we didn't have the opportunity to celebrate all together like years prior, we still made sure that holiday cheer was spread!

We'd like to give a very special thanks to Megan Coffey for her never-ending positivity and Christmas cheer! Megan, like years past, organized our companies now socially distanced Christmas celebrations and activities and put together nearly 100 Christmas gift bags.

We look forward to the year of 2021 and hope that it brings joy, love, and more hand sanitizer! Once again, from all of us here at DropBox Inc., Merry Christmas and stay healthy!

What Base Should You Sit A DropBox Inc. Shipping Container On?

Posted on Wed, Dec 09, 2020 @ 16:12 PM

ISO Shipping container modifications, DropBox Inc, ISO Shipping container, shipping container modifications company, Shipping container, custom container modification, custom ISO shipping container modification, ISO shipping container modification, dropboxinc.com, shipping container modification company, storage container modifications, container mods, ISO shipping container maintenance, Reinventing the Box, shipping container foundation, foundation, shipping container baseWhen a customer purchases a DropBox Inc. shipping container modification, one of the many benefits is that it's turnkey. This means that it's immediately ready for use as soon as it arrives to your site and his hooked up to power. But before you can begin, it's important that the product is placed on the proper foundation in order for it to be used safely and effectively.

When placing your shipping container modification on your jobsite, the most important thing you must remember is to keep the structure on a dry, flat, and level base

If you rent/purchase a single-container build that will be moved often, then it's okay to place it directly on the ground. The same goes with a single-container build that will be sitting sedentary for a month to a year, but you must make sure that it remains level over time. However, if it will be placed in a location that's more long term, then it may be beneficial to place it on a gravel/concrete pad to be safe. Finally, if you choose to purchase a multi-container build, it's important to create a pier system or foundation due to the fact that the weight could case soil to shift.

By following these steps, you can increase the life of your shipping container modification and ensure the safety of yourself and others!

DropBox Inc, MSSI, Portable Solutions Group, major award, Modular Security Systems, Inc.

In honor of hard work and a "can-do" attitude, Portable Solutions Group recognizes Jennifer Caldwell as the 2020 third quarter recipient of its Major Award. Jennifer currently serves as the Assistant Design Manager. Over the last year and a half, Jennifer has continued to grow in her design role and has led the design team on some of Portable Solutions Group’s largest projects.

Towards the end of 2019, Jennifer took the lead design role for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory B191 Chemical Storage Building. Not only was it the single largest footprint to date, but she also coordinated the designs of multiple engineers and architects into highly customized design documents. Jennifer followed that project by leading the Ramsey, NJ project for AdEdge Technologies. She coordinated the design of seven different custom enclosures in seven weeks to meet a very aggressive design schedule.

During 2020, Jennifer led Design 3.0 design efforts. Using custom automation tools, she created a content center that linked to our manufacturing inventory system. Jennifer and the rest of the design group are currently finishing up efforts to redesign all MSSI MAC products to be design and manufacturing sustainable into the future.

Portable Solutions Group is continuing to ship products to its customers, and it would not be possible without Jennifer and her design leadership. We would like to congratulate Jennifer Caldwell for winning the Major Award and wish her continued success with our family of companies.

DropBox Inc. Modifies Modular Lab to Assist in Tissue Culture Process

Posted on Wed, Sep 30, 2020 @ 16:09 PM

shipping container modification, DropBox Inc, custom shipping container modification, custom ISO shipping container modification, ISO shipping container modification, portable laboratory, mobile lab, portable lab, modular lab, modular laboratory, mobile laboratory, modular chemical lab, modular chemical labs, modular chemical laboratory, tissue cultureDid you know that DropBox Inc.'s modular laboratories can be pre-engineered and configured based on use within industry needs? For example, DropBox Inc. has been working with many different customers to design, engineer and manufacture tissue culture labs. You may be asking yourself, what is tissue culture and why is it important? Today's blog will help answer those questions!

Tissue culture is the process of taking small pieces of plant tissue and placing them under controlled nutritional and environmental conditions in an artificial environment to produce clones of that plant by growing new tissue. There are four primary stages:

Stage 1: Establishment

The plant tissues (also called explants) are established in the appropriate in vitro. In order for this to be done, the explants must be sterilized and done so under the proper, sterile conditions. This prevents a microorganism from affecting the process. The explants are then introduced to the culture.

Stage 2: Multiplication

In this stage, the plant material is divided again and placed into a material that supports plant growth (also known as the medium). The medium includes components such as regulators and nutrients. This stage is what causes the rapid development of tissue and the production of multiple shoots. Shoots are stems including their appendages, the leaves and lateral buds, flowering stems and flower buds.

Stage 3: Rooting

And in this phase? You guessed it: plant roots begin to grow! Hormones are required in order to stimulate this. During this stage, complete plantlets begin to form.

Stage 4: Acclimatization

In the final stage, the plantlets must be acclimatized to a normal growing environment. This typically involves moving them to somewhere like a greenhouse where they can be in open-air conditions with low humidity and higher levels of light.

Why Is The Tissue Culture Process In Demand?

There are many advantages to using the tissue culture process. These include:

      • Speed - In a short amount of time, you can produce thousands of plantlets with a small amount of plant tissue.
      • Health - Because plants that are produced during the tissue culture process are often free from disease, this can help prevent the spread of disease and virus in new plants.
      • Flexibility - This process allows for plants to be grown all year round no matter what the season or weather is.
      • Space - Since the tissue culture process does not require an excessive amount of space, ten times the amount of plants can grow in one-tenth of the space of traditional growing operations.
      • Variety - New varieties of plants are produced, cultivated and introduced to the market at a higher speed.
How DropBox, Inc. Can Help

DropBox Inc.'s design for a tissue culture lab is focused on separate spaces that are dedicated to each stage of the process with features that support those stages. For example, tissue culture requires a dedicated air system and separated space for temperature control. We utilize an externally mounted HVAC for dehumidification control and conditioning of the space. The HVAC is "single pass" to reduce contamination. It also can be used to create positive pressure to keep the space clean.

The sterilization/transfer section typically requires cleaner air and is separated from the prep/wash section. The sterilization/transfer air passes back through the preparation/wash space with an exhaust system. The exhaust hood, which is based on Class II biosafety, laminar flow, will extract air and any additional air will be drawn back through the door louver.

Our turn-key laboratories are available with storage space, counter space, casework, sinks, insulation, ventilation, climate control, windows, doors, and much more upon request. Need something more specific to your company's needs? Our design team can work closely with you to engineer, design, and manufacture a custom modular laboratory to meet your specific size and functional requirements.
