With DropBox Inc., shipping container modifications are easy, affordable, and turn-key.
Taking customers’ site-specific needs into consideration, we modify shipping containers into everything from ground-level offices, break rooms, locker rooms, shower facilities, and self-contained running water restrooms to portable battery/inverter storage systems, water filtration housing units, blast-resistant modules, and much more. Although these portable jobsite solutions may sometimes look like shipping containers with corner castings, corrugated walls, and double doors on one end, they are built from the ground up to meet our customers’ specifications.
Think Inside the Box!
Our motto here at DropBox Inc. is “Think Inside the Box.” What we can build inside of these shipping containers to provide the right jobsite solution for our customers is what sets us apart from the competition.
“We think inside the box, knowing all along that the sky is the limit when it comes to shipping container modifications and what what we have been able to do with them,” says Robert Slagel, President of DropBox Inc. "In recent years, we’ve been able to modify containers for a much wider variety of uses – including battery storage systems that were on location and in use at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Mount Sochi, Russia, and perimeter security solutions that were used for secure entrance and egress units at the construction site of the new Freedom Tower in New York City, New York," he added.
“They’re turn-key and easily delivered, installed, and portable from one job to the next,” Slagel said of the growing popularity of shipping containers being modified for purposes other than storage and international shipping.
The price for containers and container modificationsvaries. A new "one-trip" container may cost from $4,500 to $6,000, depending on its size and the characteristics needed for certain modifications. DropBox Inc. can, however, "stick-build" containers to meet any spatial demands. "The largest unit we've built to-date was for a nuclear facility in Arizona. It’s a security portal which was built from 15 shipping containers pulled together and installed with everything security-oriented you can imagine. From x-ray to bomb detection to ballistics-rated glass in the office area – it has it all," Slagel said.
At DropBox Inc. we can sell it all – everything from simple used shipping containers for $3000, up to and beyond multi-box shipping container modifications in the millions of dollars.
At the end of the day, DropBox Inc. has built a reputation by “thinking inside the box” and building custom shipping container modifications to meet our customers’ needs.
