Among DropBox Inc.'s product line, our Industrial Packaging Group 1/Strong-Tight (IP-1) Nuclear Storage Containers will meet the specified requirements for closures, risers, lifting capabilities, finishes, and other designs that are used on your jobsite.

Certified by the Department of Transportation, these standard and customizable containers are available in custom sizes ranging from 8'x10' to 8'x40' that meet 49CFR-173.24(a), (b), and 173.410 requirements. Each build also receives a Certification of Compliance and an Analysis Package to certify the containers to the appropriate DOT shipping specification. By doing so, we can ensure that each and every customer receives a container that meets industry standards and the needs of their companies.

To guarantee that each of these open-top containers can safely hold the items that are placed inside, a seal welded, steel floor is inserted and then tested for tightness and potential leaking. Couplings are also installed for a nuclear grade filter. As a result, we can increase the safety of numerous project sites and the site workers within each of them!

DropBox Inc. Provides Modular Chemistry Labs for Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Sectors of the LNG Industry

As natural gas goes through the process of liquefaction, it must be sent through multiple sectors. These sectors are called Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream. Because DropBox Inc. is getting more involved with the LNG industry, we have built modular labs that are able to meet the needs of each of these sectors. But before we could provide modular labs to the companies within this industry, it was important for our company to understand what each sector was responsible for during the LNG process. Today's blog will be discussing what exactly happens in the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream sectors.

The Upstream sector of the LNG industry refers to the exploration and production of natural gas.

People that are employed by this section of the industry include geologists, geophysicists, service rig operators, engineering firms, scientists, and seismic/drilling contractors. Within this sector, these employees are looking for areas where minerals can be found and obtained. Once those minerals are located, the area is drilled into in order to bring any natural gas up to the surface. This sector also includes services such as rig operations, feasibility studies, machinery rental, and extraction of chemical supply.

The Midstream sector refers to the transportation and storage of natural gas.

Before the natural gas can be used to make many of the products that we purchase, it must be transported from the Upstream sector to the Downstream sector. This is where the Midstream sector comes into play. The Midstream sector of the LNG industry includes pipelines and everything else that's needed to move the natural gas long distances. This includes pumping stations, tank trucks, rail tank cars, and transcontinental tankers.

The Downstream sector involves the processing, selling, and distribution of natural gas based products.

The Downstream sector is the final step in the production process. This sector is responsible for everything that happens to the natural gas post production. The employees that are in this sector are natural gas processors. Their responsibility is to take the finished products to consumers and market/distribute those products. Many of the products that come directly from downstream production include diesel, natural gas, gasoline, heating oil, lubricants, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and propane.

DropBox Inc. offers modular labs that provide LNG producers with the proper environments for each sector of the production process.

Transportable and site-ready for connection to power, water, and sewer, our customizable, modular labs are fully equipped to meet the specific needs of the producers of natural gas, LNGs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. The quick installation of these labs reduces weather delays, moisture getting into project materials resulting in mold contamination, and on-site traffic from workers, equipment, and suppliers. By providing cleanroom process areas and laboratory/R&D space, DropBox Inc. is able to give lab technicians the ability to perform their work duties and quality control protocols in a remote setting. This in includes the ability to have the lab be an open area or contain specific zones for use separation.

As our President and CEO, Robert Slagel, always says, "If you can think it, we can put it in a box!"

For more information on DropBox Inc. and modular labs, CONTACT US HERE or call 740.532.7822.

Update: DropBox Inc. Nears Completion on $2.5 Million DHS Contract

Back in February, DropBox Inc. announced the award of a major contract with the Department of Homeland Security Division (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD). The contract for the production of multiple shipping container modifications known as the On Dock Rail Straddle Portal (ODRSP) is the culmination of a partnership with Savannah River Nuclear Laboratory (SRNL) and the DHS that dates all the way back to 2010. These portals are designed to scan shipping containers that enter US ports for nuclear materials or "dirty bombs.” The prototype ODRSP was delivered to Akin, SC back in 2011.

After years of testing in South Carolina and Virginia, the purchase of these new ODRSP was approved and the contract for their construction was award earlier this year.

A few short months later, work modifying the multiple shipping containers is nearly complete and workers at DropBox Inc. can see the finish line for the project. However that doesn't mean these will be the last ODRSP modules to be built at our facility in Worthington, KY.

John Sturm, Vice President of Engineering, Design, and Risk Management for Portable Solutions Group, parent company to DropBox Inc,. stated, "This project is a great opportunity for our company and I'm excited to see what it will bring in the future.

As the scanning devices and electrical components are installed, visitors from the DHS and SRNL are expected to be at the manufacturing facility in Worthington for factory acceptance testing. Once that initial round of testing is complete, the unit will be disassembled and delivered piece-by-piece for permanent installation at one of the country’s largest ports of entry.

Through engineering, design, construction, delivery, and testing, DropBox Inc. and its employees have played a critical role in this national security project from beginning to end. Robert Slagel, President/CEO of DropBox Inc. recently said, “We have played a part in creating this unique security portal that will help protect our country’s ports of entry, and it's something to be very proud of.”

Portable Solutions Group Major Award Winner for Q1 2019

At Portable Solutions Group (PSG), parent company to DropBox inc. and Modular Security Systems Inc., we work with customers around the world to build portable, turn-key solutions for a wide range of applications. From customizable guard offices with turnstiles, vehicle barrier gates, access control, and climate-controlled guard offices to restrooms, showers, and much more, we take every step needed to provide functionality, deliverability, and the optimization of a restricted footprint and make things happen.

In recognition of all the hard work that we do, PSG has been awarding a quarterly “Major Award” similar to that received by "The Old Man" (Ralphie's dad) in 1983's A Christmas Story. The award is given to employees who go the extra mile to get the job done.

Being open to the imagination of our customers’ needs with consideration to the products we build is a lot of work and requires the attention of a lot of behind-the-scenes folks. While our salespeople, engineers, and designers lead the charge out front, a large group of office staff keeps things rolling and makes sure the ship keeps sailing on down the river.

With those hardworking people in mind, it is with great pleasure that we have awarded the 2019 Q1 Major Award to Donna Vanover-McGlothin. Donna began her career with PSG in 2017 as our Accounts Receivable and Payroll Administrator.

Since coming aboard Donna has worked very hard to help the companies with account balances and accounts receivable and has maintained payroll for our more than 100 employees.

We'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Donna for all of her success and hard work. Way to go, Donna! Congratulations!

Shipping Container Modifications for Portable Work Stations

DropBox Inc. has established a wide range of customers in the industrial and commercial construction industry, not just in the U.S. but around the world. Everything from containerized restrooms, Blast Resistant Modules (BRM), modular chemical labs, and ground-level workshops have been custom designed, engineered, manufactured, and delivered to meet our customers’ site-specific needs.

At DropBox Inc. we make it a point to listen to our customers and to provide custom shipping container modifications that meet their unique and specific needs.

We have modified everything from the simplest tool cribs to highly customized ground-level chemical labs and portable work stations.

Many of our customers need a portable solution to meet their need for onsite work stations for hose repair, and other work shops for carpentry, water testing and filtration, and welding training and testing. Many of our customers need an enclosed climate-controlled area with pre-installed welding equipment, cutting devices, saws, as well as over-head gantry cranes.

Our 20’ and 40' portable work stations are customized to facilitate onsite work that would otherwise have to be performed off-site with long turnarounds and big bills. The portable ground-level work stations we provide help save our customers time and money because these tasks can now be completed without having to leave the jobsite.

The main advantage of the portable onsite work stations we provide is that they can be placed anywhere and moved easily from location to location. Thanks to the durable nature of shipping containers, our work stations can be climate-controlled and provide an enclosed work space with the right equipment regardless of their destination.

Regardless of your work site needs, DropBox Inc. can provide the portable shipping container modifications you need to get the job done on time and under budget.

If you have a shipping container modification idea, need, or simply a want, do not hesitate to CONTACT US or call 740.532.7822 to speak with someone on our team.

DropBox Inc. Why We Work!

Visitors to Portable Solutions Group and DropBox Inc. will notice a little something new when they approach our facility. In an effort to maintain focus on a long-running standard of excellence in robust safety and quality a new set of banners and signage are now prominently displayed right outside our front door.

According to Mark Fields, VP of Sales and Marketing, "This is our family focus for 2019. On Monday we will kick off the Why We Work campaign. The pictures inside the Why We Work letters are pictures of family members and people that matter to our employees. We have also placed additional banners like this around our manufacturing facility to remind everyone of Why We Work” and the need for safety every day. There are people who want and expect us to come home safe and well. And that's what we are trying to emphasize for our employees and visitors to our facility."

We'd like to give a special thanks to Megan Coffey, Executive Assistant to CEO/Owner Rob Slagel, for all of her assistance in getting this program going and putting together the banners, which were designed and printed by Speedy Signs in Ashland, Kentucky.

Re-Inventing the BOX through Re-Use and Recycling Shipping Containers

Re-Inventing the BOX through Re-Use and Recycling Shipping Containers

DropBox Inc. is an ISO shipping container modification business. We work with shipping container brokers around the U.S. to procure one-trip shipping containers to build our products and promote green construction. We take shipping containers and re-invent them through modifications to create one-of-a-kind products, as well as a long line of standardized products like Blast Resistant Modules, Ground-Level Offices, Modular Chemical Labs, and much more.

The re-use and recycling of shipping containers for the construction of portable jobsite solutions makes perfect sense for DropBox Inc. and our customers. All around the world shipping containers are used for imports and exports. Due primarily to the growing U.S. trade deficit with shipping container producing countries like China, roughly 7 million shipping containers come into the U.S. every year while only about 2.5 million are shipped back out.

Because of this, shipping containers are being stockpiled at ports all around the country. Many of these containers go unused – and thats where DropBox Inc. comes into play. We purchase these containers and use them to build our products. In doing so we are essentially recycling containers that would otherwise go unused and left sitting at ports and harbors.

By building our shipping container products from one-trip containers, DropBox Inc. creates shipping container modifications that prove to be more durable and stronger than other comparable products that are typically built using conventional stick-built construction.

If you have an idea for a shipping container modification product and would like to learn how DropBox Inc. can help you bring your idea to life, CONTACT US or call 740.532.7822 to speak with one of our shipping container modification experts.

Modified Containers Portable Solutions and More from DropBox Inc.

Using shipping containers as workable space and an alternative to traditional stick-built structures gives many workers in industrial and commercial construction the space they need in a turn-key portable solution. There is a variety of configurations, customizations and options available. and ground-level offices that can be used for meetings, breaks, lunches, and more. Whether you need a portable solution with blast resistance, or you are on a jobsite with spatial constriction,s we have the portable solution for you.

Once delivered, simply hook the unit up to power and get to work.

Is it time for you to learn more about the many uses of shipping container modifications in industrial and commercial markets?
