DropBox Inc. recently began construction on four new blast resistant offices for customers in need of a 3.0 PSI Over Rating. These
Blast Resistant Modules (BRM) Officescan be used as a safe and secured area for temporary break rooms, tool sheds, and to house meetings in potential blast areas. These shipping container modifications are a valuable asset for companies in power plants, refineries, and other petro-chem facilities. Safety coordinators and plant managers at these locations see the "Blast Box" as a way to protect the influx of tradesmen that will be working on these sites for the duration of major projects, turnarounds, and outages.

These Blast Resistant Office/Break rooms have been engineered and manufactured from steel ISO shipping containers to be able to withstand a blast of 3.0 PSI over pressure rating. By constructing these units from 16 guage corteen steel conex boxes a level of blast resistance is assured via the construction and rigidity of the shipping container itself, but additional steel reinforcements have been added to these units to guarantee the 3.0 PSI Over Rating. Additional interior finishings, including insulation and wall treatments combined with lighting and HVAC systems make the "Blast Box" a safe and comfortable place for workers on site to take breaks and to facilitate meetings.
