DropBox Inc. Custom Shipping Container Modifications Under Way

DropBox Inc. recently started construction on a new 20' ISO shipping container modification that will be converted into a running water, flushable restroom. This 20' shipping container will soon be modified to be a climate controlled, portable restroom that will be sent to the Thule Air Base in Greenland. The Thule Air Base is the United States Air Force's northernmost base and is located 695 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Like all DropBox Inc. shipping container modifications this unit has been custom designed to meet the demands of the harsh environs of the air base that is only 947 miles form the North Pole.
Being that this custom shipping container modification will be inside the Arctic Circle special attention has been given to the insulation being used in the unit. In order to meet the rigid demands of the cold this unit has been insulated with a special spray-in insulation with an "R" rating of 32 (approximately double that of the average house in the United States). The insulation and wall finishings have been applied and the unit is currently being fitted with plumbing, two toilet stalls, one urinals, two sinks, and containment tanks to hold both the fresh and waste water. This self contained, running water restroom is set to ship out the first week of next month.
