Robert Slagel is President, CEO, and Owner of Portable Solutions Group (PSG). Headquartered in Ironton, Ohio, Portable Solutions Group is the parent company to Modular Security Systems Inc., DropBox Inc., Storage on the Spot, Johnny on the Spot and more recently an in-house manufacturing arm called Portable Solutions Manufacturing. PSG, through its’ operating companies, provides equipment to customers on six continents around the world for containerized, portable products for sanitation, security, and infrastructure needs.

Modular Security Systems, Inc., headquartered in southern Ohio, manufactures from production facilities in Ironton, Ohio and Worthington, Kentucky. The bulk of its products extend across North America in addition to a growing global presence.
In 2000 Mr. Slagel founded DropBox, Inc. of which he is also CEO. DropBox, Inc. imports loaded shipping containers into the US from Asia and dispatches those ISO containers from most major US cities. DropBox, Inc. serves as a domestic distributor of containers and has developed into a full-service engineering firm for container modification. DropBox, Inc. is involved with cutting edge technology dealing with homeland security and battery powered storage.
In 1999 Mr. Slagel founded Storage on the Spot, Inc. and remains CEO and owner of that company today as well. Storage on the Spot, Inc. rents ISO shipping containers as portable storage units in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.
Mr. Slagel is also the CEO of, Industrial Sanitation, Inc. DBA “Johnny on the Spot” which was founded by his grandfather, Robert B. Slagel in 1958 and is one of the first portable restroom rental companies in the nation.
Prior to owning his own businesses Robert R. Slagel worked for American Electric Power from 1986 – 1992, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency from 1993 – 1994 and the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1995 – 2000.
Mr. Slagel most recently served on the Board of Directors of the Lawrence County Ohio Port Authority and also held the title of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Port Authority for the City of Ironton, Ohio which he helped found. In 2003 Mr. Slagel was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ohio Congressman Ted Strickland. In 2004 he was awarded the “20 Under 40” title by the Huntington West Virginia Herald Dispatch, which cited 20 people in the Huntington Area that had achieved significant accomplishments prior to their turning 40 years old.
Mr. Slagel holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geology from Ohio University and a Masters of Engineering Degree from University of Idaho. He is a registered Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Kentucky.
Mr. Slagel is active in his community and works closely with the Tri State Construction and Building Trades Council in the area of industrial economic development.
