The focus of Dropbox Inc business is to design buildings made from shipping containers or connex containers. Shipping containers have evolved over the years to a standard design and set of dimensions that allow them to be loaded with cargo, and carried by cargo ships, trucks, or trains. Roughly 7.5 million shipping container are imported into the US from places like China yet only about 2 million are exported back out of the country.
The ultimate destination for many used shipping containers or milvans may be the scrap yard, where they are shredded, and sent to be melted down to raw steel. Dropbox Inc however has found a number of uses for both new and used shipping containers. Reuse of the containers allows for a more green application than melting them down.
Recently the popularity of using containers for construction has risen greatly. For Dropbox these containers can provide a green type of construction with major advantages in cost savings and strength. The containers are extremely strong in all dimensions, and allow Dropbox to build extremely strong buildings without expensive steel fabrication and assembly.
"Shipping Containers are our business, and we aim to be the best", stated Matthew Vonderheide, Business Manager for Dropbox Inc. "We not only do the structural design, engineering and manufacturing, but we can provide you with the complete package, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing".

Recently Middle Tennessee State University began construction on a new $77 million Student Union and wrote
Dropbox Incs Sanitation Station into the specification documents for the construction project. A major concern for massive construction projects like this is providing
restroom facilities for laborers on site during the construction. Having used traditional portable polyethylene toilets on construction projects at the university in the past project managers wanted to provide a better more sanitary unit for workers on site.

Taking sanitation into the future on major construction sites around the country these modular running water restrooms are climate controlled with finished walls, spray in rubberized flooring, and HVACs. The Sanitation Station only requires a 110 single phase quick connect to power the entire unit and can be shipped anywhere in the US using a flat bed or hydraulic roll off trailer. The portable Sanitation Station is also built to be versatile in that it can be plumbed into existing water and sewer lines on site or it can be used as a self contained restroom that has holding tanks for both fresh and waste water.

Like the project at MTSU more and more construction bids are including the Sanitation as a hygienically sound, sanitary step into the future when it comes to managing restrooms for construction workers. Dropbox Inc was tasked with the objective of building a massive
mil van (shipping container) modification. Although Dropbox Inc had yet to begin stacking ISO shipping containers, other than
DropOffices on job sites, the project was something Dropbox could accomplish. We can't say who purchased the unit or what it will be used for but we can say this container modification has opened the door to a number of other more sophisticated builds. Through the use of
engineering and manufacturing know how Dropbox Inc was able to build this proto-type that will be put through rigorous testing before further orders will be placed.

By stacking shipping containers on top of one another successfully Dropbox Inc has began the process of designing a number of
multi-container units that will utililize the additional space to build custom container mods to fit the needs of any customer that calls. The sky is the limit for Dropbox Inc and
custom ISO shipping container modifications. Check back at
Dropboxinc.com for updates as that come.

Roughly 8 weeks ago a customer called the Dropbox office with an idea for a non-self contained running water restroom with a men's room, a women's room, and an ADA compliant restroom, all built into a shipping container. Dropbox Inc., a custom container modification company with years of experience building, modular offices, running water restrooms and showers for major industrial construction sites at power plants, refineries, and nuclear facilities, jumped at the opportunity to build a custom floor plan, combining a men's, women's and an ADA compliant restroom.

In the process of designing the
custom floor plan, Dropbox Inc. was also set to the task of installing customer specified circular "submarine-hatch-like-windows" to match the existing decor of the customers site. After seeing a few pictures of the build, as it progressed, the customer recognized the Dropbox solution of fitting a circular window into a square cut out as being the perfect solution and ordered an additional 20 of the "window-flanges" to be used in their own future builds.
Eight weeks later the unit is complete with a total of 4 toilets, 2 showers, 3 sinks, 3 HVAC's, 4 custom fitted circular windows, and mechanical room with a water heater, breaker box, and grinder pump. This custom build was loaded and shipped out on Friday. Check back at
Dropboxinc.com for updates and pictures of the unit as it arrives on site in beautiful Sausalito, California.

A few short weeks ago Dropbox Inc. began the process of building a custom container modification to meet the specifications of a customer on the west coast. This men and womens restroom/shower combination with a separate ADA compliant restroom was built based on the customers specific requests and was the first time Dropbox has put circular "submarine like" window hatches in one of its units. In addition to the windows, and the custom floor plan, this custom shipping container modifcation will also be painted to match existing structures currently located on site.
All the toilets, urinals, sinks and shower fixtures have been installed on the custom container modification along with all plumbing and electrical. The walls have been insulated, the floors have been sprayed with a non-skid rubberized flooring that is easy to clean and maintain. The last thing to go in will be the stall doors for the toilets and a fresh coat of customer specified paint to the exterior of the unit.

Prior to shipping this unit will also have 20 Dropbox manufactured, window flanges placed inside. These window flanges were designed and manufactured specifically for this build and the circular window/hatches the customer requested. When pictures of the unit were sent to the customer in the early stages of the build they noticed the "square to circle" flanges and ordered 20 for themselves to use in some of their own custom shipping container modifications.

For Dropbox Inc. the opportunity to offer customers a custom solution for their needs is always an exciting prospect. This week cutting began on a custom running water restroom with a men's room, women's room and an ADA compliant restroom. This custom container modification will have 2 men's toilet stalls, 2 urinals, a shower, and a sink in the men's room, 1 women's toilet stall, 1 shower, and a sink in the women's room, and a handicap accessible restroom with 1 toilet and a sink.

In addition to the custom floor plan this portable running water restroom will be built to incorporate 4 "submarine-like" circular hatch windows as specified by the customer. This Sanitation Station is currently in the first stages of manufacturing and has already had the doorways, HVAC, fan, and windows cut out.
Check back for more updates as this build continues or contact Dropbox Inc. for a free quote and more product information.

Dropbox Inc is a custom container modification company that specializes in building numerous products out of Standard and High-Cube ISO Shipping containers. Dropbox's most popular product is the Running Water Restroom (RWR), Sanitation Station. The Sanitation Stations are essentially self-contained restroom trailersthat can be transported to construction projects to provide a higher level of hygiene for workers on site. By providing these units to customers across the US Dropbox Inc has been able to increase the overall sanitation at construction sites, military installations, and industrial facilities.
Over the past few weeks things have been busy for Dropbox Inc and Dropboxinc.com. From being written into specification documents for a construction project at a major university to landing sales for both custom container modifications and standard Sanitation Stations the people at Dropbox have worked relentlessly to provide prompt design and estimation services. Just this week a custom container modification for a running water restroom/shower combo with a men's restroom, a women's restroom, and an ADA compliant restroom with a toilet stall and a sink sold to a company in Southern California. This week alone Dropboxinc.com has received 19 leads and sent out numerous quotes. A Standard Self Contained 4-1 Sanitation Station (4 men's toilet stalls and 1 women's toilet stall) is in the process of being shipped to a customer in Nebraska, and a 20' Non-Self Contained Running Water Restroom (RWR) is heading to a customer in Indiana.
