Earlier this year DropBox, Inc. went to market with the newest running water product in its increasing line of containerized, self- contained products. This shipping container modification is called the Decontamination Station and is taking the industry by storm. The modular decontamination shower is designed to handle the particulate matter associated with Lead, Asbestos, Arsenic, and hexofloric chromium removal.
Rob Slagel, Co-President of DropBox, Inc. had this to say about the new Decontamination Station; “if a contractor is looking to abate hexofloric chromium, lead, arsenic or asbestos the Decon shower by DropBox,Inc. is just what they need. These units are designed to be plumbed into existing water and sewer lines. They can also be accompanied by a seperate Tanks Box with fresh water and gray water tanks to make the unit self-contained. This decon shower contains filtration systems designed to remove the particulate matter of lead, asbestos, arsenic or hexofloric chromium from shower water. This ground level shower unit, made from a modified conex container, is a nice alternative to the mobile decon showers that have been on the market for years. The traditional decontamination shower is built from a trailer on wheels requiring steps and poses a falling hazard on site.”
This new connex container decontamination shower is being used to abate arsenic, hexoflorix chromium, lead and asbestos on industrial job sites for customers such as AEP, Marathon Petroleum, MMI, Brand Energy and Infrastructure and others.

DropBox Inc. recently began work on a 20' restroom shipping container modification complete with a mens' room, womens' room and an ADA compliant restroom. This unit will be fully insulated with finished walls, skid-proof rubberized flooring, over head lighting, and HVACs. The portable restroom has been designed to be plumbed into existing water and waste lines on site at the customers location and is being built to precise specifications provided by them. Like all running water restrooms by DropBox this 20' shipping container modification will also come with an antifreeze system that will be used in the cold winter months to prevent freezing.

DropBox Inc. has recently completed construction on 3 custom shipping container modifications for a customer located in the US Virgin Islands. One of these customer specified container modifications is already on site and after realizing the usefulness of the unit the customer contacted DropBox Inc. to build 3 more. These modular, climate controlled tool and parts cribs have been designed to meet the US Department of Labor and OSHA's Class 1 Divsion 2 Requirements for Electrical components in hazardous locations.
These custom shipping container modifications have been designed with a solid steel man-door, HVAC, a ventilation fan, over head lighting, and shelving sized to meet the on site need for parts, PPE, and tool storage. Once complete these units will be shipped from the DropBox manufacturing facility in Worthington, KY to a port along the gulf of Mexico before being loaded on a cargo ship and sent to their final destination on St. Croix.

This week in Columbus, Ohio hundreds of AEP employees, vendors, and guest utility representatives gathered for the AEP BRO Forum to share cutting edge industry technology and knowledge. A Vendor Expo of over 150 vendor booths and breakout conference sessions provided an informational venue for an abundance of boiler subject matter and experts. According to AEP representatives at the show, this year's event included even more networking and information sharing opportunities than in the past.
For the first time in company history DropBox Inc was at the AEP BRO Forum in Columbus to represent it's wide array of custom container modifications including the DropOffice, Sanitation Station, Shower Shack, and Decontamination Station. As the demand for rapidly deployable living quarters, medical supply facilities, and emergency relief management centers increases DropBox Inc., is in the process of designing modular facilities out of shipping containers to answer the call of duty. Customers in all branches of the military, the Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon, and FEMA have all issued Request For Quotes (RFQ) for a number of custom container modifications designed to meet the site specific needs of military facilities and emergency relief operations in places like the Middle East, the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Region, and Haiti.

DropBox Inc. has received a number of calls recently regarding the usage of shipping containers in the construction of hotels and apartment complexes. After doing some research into the idea DropBox is in the process of developing a business model around the hotel and residential market. "After doing extensive research online we've found that there are a number of companies experimenting with the concept and I feel DropBox has the knowledge and experience to compete in the market," stated Matt Vonderheide, Business Manager for DropBox. "Throughout our existence as a custom shipping container modification company we have learned a great deal about the right way to build a solid product line. So taking the step into these "multi-box" builds for residental and commercial purposes just makes sense for us to pursue."

DropBox Inc has recently began research into providing above ground tornado shelters manufactured out of ISO shipping containers. I sat down with Matt Vonderheide, Business Manager for DropBox Inc. to discuss the new product.
MD: Matt, what interests you into manufacturing deliverable tornado shelters from DropBox? MV: I've done a lot of research into tornado shelters that are currently on the market and I noticed that the majority of companies are building units that have to be buried underground. There are a lot fewer companies out there that are building above ground tornado shelters and I think there is demand for certified above ground tornado shelters. I feel like
DropBox Inc. and its partners can manufacture and market a product that will be both safe and cost effective for our customers.
MD: Why shipping containers?MV: Having
modified shipping containers for years into a wide array of products, we know that your standard milvan or connex box, constructed out of 16 gauge corten steel, makes the perfect building block to manufacture high strength, easily transportable above ground tornado shelter.
MD: What kind of research or codes are you looking into to make sure that DropBoxs' units meet the standard in tornado shelters?MV: We're planning to implement aspects of the ICC 500 – 2008 Standard for design and construction of Storm Shelters. These standards are published by the International Code Council (ICC) and the National Storm Shelter Association (NSSA) and provide design and construction requirements for storm shelters that provide a safe refuge from storms that produce high winds, hurricanes, and tornados.
